All Scriptures Are Inspired and Beneficial For Teaching. 2 Timothy 3:16

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Wrong?

Some believe Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong about many things, but here's something most people don't consider. Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be true Christians. All other religions are thought to be 'false'. The entire world except for their organization is thought to be dominated by Satan the Devil. According to the Watchtower, only Jehovah's Witnesses have any scriptural hope of surviving this doomed system of things. See the Watchtower Sept 1, 1989

Do you agree that only Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth and that all other viewpoints are wrong? Whether you do or not, here's why some people say Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong about 2 Timothy 3:16. Are all scriptures inspired and beneficial for teaching? The answer may surprise you.

What Do Christians Believe?

Jehovah's Witnesses believe in the entire Bible based on the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16. However what happens when passages in the Bible oppose or contradict what Jesus taught? Christians by definition are followers of Jesus and no one else. True Christians may study the entire Bible but they do not run ahead of what Jesus taught.

They do not try to harmonize the old testament, the Apostle Paul, and the early Christian congregation, ... with what Jesus taught. They read the words of Jesus and this is sufficient for true Christians. John 6:67-69 Adding anything more to what Jesus taught would running ahead of Christ. 2 John 1: 9 - 11

Is The Entire Bible Inspired By God And Beneficial For Teaching?

Some say it is not. Here's why.

  1. 2 Timothy 3:16 was written by the Apostle Paul to Timothy. The ministry of Paul was based on his background as a Pharisee and his second hand knowledge of Jesus. Prior to becoming a Christian he was responsible for the death of Christians. Get the Facts About The Apostle Paul Even though most people agree that Paul was a sincere Christian, Jesus warned his followers against the leaven of the Pharisees. Luke 12:1, Matthew 16:6, Matthew 12:11

  2. Some Bible passages oppose the teachings of Christ and Jesus is the path to eternal life. John 6:67-69

  3. Some of the scriptures Paul was referring to, were different than the ones Jehovah's Witnesses are using today. Why? Because it was the Roman Catholic Church that decided what books made it into the Bible and which ones didn't, - 335 years after Paul wrote his second letter to Timothy. It's ironic that the Jehovah's Witnesses reject pagan holidays and all the religions of Christendom. JW's believe that every religion other than theirs is dominated by Satan the Devil and his 'wicked organization', yet they base their entire faith on decisions made by the Roman Catholic Church hundreds of years after Jesus died!
