Who Are The Apostates?
It's relatively easy to join the Watchtower compared to leaving the religion. Leaving comes with a steep price.
Those who leave the Watchtower voluntarily or by force (through 'disfellowshipping' or excommunication), are referred to as 'apostates'.
When someone leaves, all JW's feel the pain. Apostates are shunned. Even greeting an apostate is thought to be a sin. Families are destroyed. Close friendships and relationships suddenly end. All are punished, - those who leave and those who stay.
