What Does The Watchtower Say About Apostates?
'Haters of God and his people are to be hated... We must hate in the truest sense, which is to regard with extreme and active aversion, to consider as loathsome, odious, filthy, to detest. ...Jehovah's enemies are recognized by their intense dislike for his people and the work these are doing.' Watchtower Oct 1, 1952, Page 599 par 11 - 13 ( Compare this with what the Bible says, Luke 6:35 - 37, Matt 5:44 )
'Hate what is bad. When a person persists in a way of badness after
knowing what is right, when the bad becomes so
ingrained that it is an inseparable part of his makeup,
then in order to hate what is bad a Christian
must hate the person with whom the badness is
inseparably linked.. Jesus did not mean for us to
love the hardened enemies of Jehovah' The Watchtower, July 15, 1961, page 420
'You have seen the benefit of godly love, but do you
know how to hate? These very strong words are
an expression of godly hate, and you too must have
this quality to be pleasing to God. Hate causes a
feeling of disgust to well up inside you. You
loathe, abhor, despise the object of your
hatred Godly hatred never has as its object our
Christian brothers, no matter how imperfect.' The Watchtower, July 15, 1974, page 442
WT, March 15, 1986, ‘Do Not Be Quickly Shaken From Your Reason’ par 7-13 (subtitle: 'Have No Dealings With Apostates').
'Apostasy is, in reality, a rebellion against Jehovah. Some apostates profess to know and serve God, but
they reject teachings or requirements set out in his
Word. Others claim to believe the Bible, but they
reject Jehovah's organization and actively try to
hinder its work. When they deliberately choose
such badness after knowing what is right, when the
bad becomes so ingrained that it is an inseparable
part of their makeup, then a Christian must hate in
the Biblical sense of the word those who have
inseparable attached themselves to the badness.' The Watchtower, October 1, 1993, page 19
'Does being truthful with others mean that we must disclose every detail to whoever asks us a question? Not necessarily. ... Jehovah’s people need to be on guard against apostates and other wicked men who use trickery or cunning for selfish purposes.' WT June 15, 2009, Article: 'Speak Truth With Your Neighbor', par 6
What Does Jesus Say?
Jesus said, 'Love your enemies. ... Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6: 26 - 37. Critics say that true Christian religions - i.e. followers of Jesus do not have Judicial Committees. True Christian religions do not judge on behalf of God. That's God's business. They don't disfellowship members. They don't shun. They don't teach hatred. They don't judge people as being wicked or religions as false because they are different.
Who then are the apostates? Are they Jehovah's Witnesses who have left their religion? Or are they Jehovah's Witnesses who are still inside the organization? Which group has rejected and left the teachings of God's son?
Since the Watchtower disagrees with Jesus, critics say they can't be God's organization. Jehovah's Witness believe that Satan the Devil opposes God and the entire world is controlled by Satan. Since they are not following the instructions of Jesus, could their organization be controlled by Satan as well? Jesus said, 'Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.' Matthew 5:44. 2 Cor. 11:12-15; 2 John 1: 9 - 11; Luke 6: 35
In a parable, Jesus spoke of a faithful slave and an unfaithful slave. The unfaithful servant beats all the other slaves. Matthew 24:45 - 51
The Bible records this parable of Jesus, 'And he made this story for some people who were certain that they were good, and had a low opinion of others: 18:10 Two men went up to the Temple for prayer; one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-farmer.
18:11 The Pharisee, taking up his position, said to himself these words: God, I give you praise because I am not like other men, who take more than their right, who are evil-doers, who are untrue to their wives, or even like this tax-farmer.
18:12 Twice in the week I go without food; I give a tenth of all I have.
18:13 The tax-farmer, on the other hand, keeping far away, and not lifting up even his eyes to heaven, made signs of grief and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner. 18:14 I say to you, This man went back to his house with God's approval, and not the other: for everyone who makes himself high will be made low and whoever makes himself low will be made high.' Luke 18:9-14
Inspirational Quotes.
'Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.' Proverbs 10:12
If the organization hates you, now is the time to become a follower of Jesus. He was hated as well. 'Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.' Luke 23:34
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that 'Babylon the Great' , 'the world empire of false religion' is wicked and will be destroyed by their God Jehovah at armageddon. We would expect these so-called 'false religions' to judge, disfellowship, hate, and shun the people, but the majority do not. Followers of Jesus do not judge. The Bible says they are sons of the Most High. Jesus said that God is kind to the 'ungrateful and the wicked'. Luke 6:35
Some lovers of truth have many masters. They follow the entire Bible. They follow Jehovah, Jesus, the Apostle Paul, the early Christian congregation, and the instructions of their modern day religious leaders. But as for me I have but one master. All authority in heaven and on earth has been given unto him. He is a Christian's path to eternal life. He is my only God. Matthew 28:18-20; 1 John 5:11; Jude 1:21; John 3:36
