What Jehovah's Witnesses Believe About Jesus Their Mediator.

What The Bible Says About Jesus The Mediator.

'For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,' 1 Timothy 2:5 NIV. A Christian's direct relationship with Jesus is symbolized by baptism

What The Watchtower Says.

'Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is the Mediator between his heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and the nation of spiritual Israel, which is limited to only 144,000 members. ' WT Book: 'Worldwide Security', 1986, Chapter 1, 'The Desire for Peace and Security Worldwide', par 16

'Hence, the ransom sacrifice is fundamental to the new covenant, of which Jesus is the Mediator. Paul wrote: “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all—this is what is to be witnessed to at its own particular times.” (1 Timothy 2:5, 6) Those words especially apply to the 144,000, with whom the new covenant is made.' Watchtower Feb 15, 1991 “You Were Bought With a Price”

'in this strict Biblical sense Jesus is the "mediator" only for anointed Christians. …The "great crowd" of "other sheep" that is forming today is not in that new covenant. However, by their associating with the "little flock" of those yet in that covenant they come under benefits that flow from that new covenant." Watchtower April 1, 1979 page 31.

'They recognize that they are not spiritual Israelites in the new covenant mediated by Jesus Christ, nor part of the "chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation."-1 Pet. 2:9. 24 Yet they do benefit from the operation of the new covenant. They benefit from this just as, in ancient Israel, the "alien resident" benefited from residing in among the Israelites who were in the Law covenant.-Ex. 20:10; Lev. 19:10, 33, 34; Rev. 7:9-15. 25 To keep in relationship with "our Savior, God," the "great crowd" needs to remain united with the remnant of spiritual Israelites." Watchtower Nov 15, 1979 page 27 Benefiting from "One Mediator Between God and Men"

The Truth About The 144,000.

The truth of the matter is that the 'annointed' 144,000, little flock, or 'spiritual Isrealites' have no say in the teachings of the organization. They are treated no differently than those of the 'great crowd'. The 144,000 must obey the leadership of the JW's in NYC. A dozen men (plus or minus) call all the shots for millions of Witnesses worldwide. If someone of the 144,000 disagrees with the organization's teachings they can get disfellowshipped just like members of the 'great crowd'.

The organization says, 'a limited number of anointed men have the responsibility of representing the slave class. They make up the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. .. Whether we are “domestics,” who are part of the anointed remnant, or we are members of the great crowd, let it be our determination to cooperate fully with the faithful steward and its Governing Body.' Watchtower June 15, 2009, Article: 'The Faithful Steward and Its Governing Body.'

What Jehovah's Witnesses Believe About The 144000

Jehovah's Witnesses believe 144,000 people are chosen or 'anointed' to go to heaven and rule the earth with Jesus when he returns to establish his Kingdom. Everyone else will be given a new physical body and be resurected to live on the earth.

Learn more about why it was necessary to invent the doctrine of the 'great crowd' in the 1930's and seperate the great crowd with the 'earthly hope' from the 144000 anointed 'spiritual' Isrealites. Bill and Joan Cetnar along with other former leaders deep within the organization talk about this forgotten 'truth' that current Jehovah's Witnesses have no knowledge of. See Jehovah's Witnesses testify

Other spellings: annoited, anoited, anointed, annointed.

Who Is 'The Faithful and Discreet Slave'

JW's are told they must obey God's 'faithful and discreet slave'. What is the truth?

1a. In 1979 the Watchtower said JW's need to be united with the anointed remnant of the 144000 because they are the only ones who have a relationship with Jesus, 'They recognize that they are not spiritual Israelites in the new covenant mediated by Jesus Christ, nor part of the "chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation."-1 Pet. 2:9. 24 Yet they do benefit from the operation of the new covenant.

1b. In 1986 the Watchtower said this.

1c. On Nov 9, 2012, Watchtower Annual Meeting Report says, ' “The faithful and discreet slave” was appointed over Jesus’ domestics in 1919. That slave is the small, composite group of anointed brothers serving at world headquarters during Christ’s presence who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food. When this group work together as the Governing Body, they act as “the faithful and discreet slave.”

1d. After decades of convincing JW's that they must be united with the 'anointed remnant' of 144,000 chosen ones who are in relationship with Jesus, (See Mediator), in 2012 they say that the 'faithful and discreet slave' has been a small group of anointed brothers serving at Watchtower headquarters since 1919!

1e. Thus JW's have always obeyed a few men who run the Watchtower in NY. The 144,000 has never had any authority within the organization like they previously claimed.
