Some religions would like us to believe that we leave God when we leave their faith. That simply is not true. Religions have used this fear tactic for centuries to control the minds of people.
Religion has absolutely nothing to do with spirituality or loving God. Of course this might sound blasphemous if you believe your beliefs are 'the truth' and everyone else is wicked, but if you careful consider this article and the Bible, you will see that attributing salvation to membership in a religion will not help you one bit. All of us stand before God as individuals. If you're a Christian, your direct relationship with God is symbolized by baptism
God is our salvation, NOT religion. Here's what the Bible says. 'Salvation belongs to the LORD' Psalms 3:8
Ponder upon this Bible quote over and over again. It is profound. If you truly understand this one Bible verse, you understand God's love. 'God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.' 1 John 4:16
When we forget or refuse to love our neighbors, we leave God. He is light and love. Darkness, evil, wickedness, pain, and suffering is a result of leaving love and light. God's love is all there is. He created everything and loves all of his creation. He doesn't care what a cat, bird, horse, or monkey believes in. He doesn't care what people believe in either. If animals and birds are free, certainly we are just as worthy.
God doesn't care if your beliefs are 'correct' or not. He doesn't care if you celebrate Mother's Day, say 'good luck', or shop at the Salvation Army. (See 141 Things Jehovah's Witnesses Can't Do.) If those things were important, God would be screaming at us at the top of his lungs from heaven making sure we follow all his rules. He doesn't do that. Why? Because he doesn't care what we believe. He created us in his image, meaning that we can believe anything we want, just like God can believe anything he wants. We are created to be free.
All of us have a choice. We can love our neighbors and 'apostates' who leave our religion or we can shun and hate 'enemies'. When we choose love we have God's support. When we choose to leave love we have left God.
We can choose to be loving and kind like God or we can leave God and live in darkness. God doesn't care. We can leave God but he never leaves us. We can return to his love at any time if we want to. God is always there for us. However it's up to us to reach out to God and feel his intense love for us. If we believe God doesn't love us or if we believe we have 'enemies' who are out to get us, guess what? That's becomes true for us. Of course is not reality in God's mind. But it does become our reality. Why? Because we've isolated ourselves from God and the world he created.
Jesus said in the Bible that God is kind to the 'ungrateful and wicked'. When we love our enemies we become 'sons of the Most High'. Luke 6:35
God is all there is. Love is real. Love is 'light' because light is real. Darkness is not real. It's merely the absence of light. Evil and wickedness is darkness because it is the absence of God's love and light.
Satan is NOT real. He is darkness. i.e. the absence of God's love. When we do something unkind or unloving we make the devil happy. At the same time, we experience pain and suffering. When we are loving and kind, we make God happy. When we learn to love those who have different values than we do, we can feel God's love for us. It's the right thing to do. It's God's way. It's love.
How To Leave God.
- Do not love your neighbors who have different moral values and beliefs
- Do not love your 'enemies'. Hate and shun them. Judge them as wicked and evil.
How To Be One With God.
- Love your neighbors as yourself regardless of their moral values and beliefs. Luke 6:27-41
- Accept and love those who disagree with you. Praise and honor them. Appreciate, and acknowledge that everyone is loved by God every bit as much as you are, - especially if their beliefs are different! Matthew 5:46
