Narrow Is The Path Leading To Eternal Life.
The Bible says Jesus is the path to eternal life, not any religion. The Bible says that ALL authority has been given unto Jesus. His path is simple.
The parable of the Good Samaritan illustrates that our neighbors are not just those who belong to the same religion.
Compare Jesus as the narrow path to eternal life, with what the Watchtower's narrow path. Are both paths the same? Or do they contradict each other?
Instead of following Jesus and what the Bible says about the narrow path to eternal life, the Watchtower Society says that JW's must keep all of Jehovah's laws. One of 'God's commands' (according to the Watchtower), is to shun and have absolutely nothing to do with anyone who disagrees with the Watchtower, including parents, children, other family members, and friends.
The Watchtower's shunning policy is heart breaking. Shunning is not love. It is not the path leading to eternal life. It is exactly the opposite! It is religious control and manipulation, without regard for the emotional well being of their members. Millions have been affected since 1952.
The sudden loss of your parents, children, and other close family members causes loyal, active JW's and former JW's (apostates) to grieve. Severe depression leads to mental illness, and serious consequences including thoughts of suicide.
The Bible says that the Pharisees were big supporters of God's laws which were given to Moses. They attempted to follow the law but neglected the love of God. Jesus continually exposed their hypocrisy.
Likewise, the Watchtower has many rules. The Watchtower teaches all about Jehovah. However they don't treat Jesus with the same respect. In fact they've ignored the instructions of Jesus about putting love ahead of rules. This is unfortunate. The Bible says that ALL authority has been given unto Jesus, - NOT Jehovah. Matthew 28:18
What Jesus says about the narrow path and what the Watchtower says, are two very different things. What is the difference?
The Watchtower requires JW's to love other JW's but that's NOT what Jesus taught. That's not the meaning of love. Loving people who love you is easy. It's not a 'narrow path'.
God's love is very different. God is kind to everyone, - even to 'the ungrateful and wicked'! Luke 6:35; It's not easy to love someone who doesn't stop kicking you in the shins over and over again. That's why love is a narrow path. It is very hard for most people to do. Those who understand God's love become 'sons of the Most High'.
Thus the path to eternal life is a behavior. It is not a religion. The narrow path to eternal life is compassion for all people, - even enemies and people you don't like.
Jesus said, “If you love those loving you, of what credit is it to you? For even the sinners love those loving them." Luke 6:32; New World Translation Bible of Jehovah's Witnesses, copied directly from jw.org, the Watchtower's official website.
Here's another version of what Jesus said, "For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have? Are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing?" Matthew 5:46; New World Translation Bible of Jehovah's Witnesses, copied directly from jw.org, the Watchtower's official website.
The path to eternal life is so narrow, that even the Watchtower hasn't noticed it. The truth is right on their official website, JW.ORG, but they don't see it. Instead they love only their own kind, just like the majority of people do.
