What Jesus Said.
Jesus said, 'Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.' Luke 12:51-53

Of course, critics say that the organization has misinterpreted the above scripture. It's not that Jesus and his followers reject people who disagree. It's that some people reject the message of Jesus! There's a big difference. We know this is true because Jesus told us not to judge and to love our enemies. If we don't associate with people because they aren't as righteous as we are, then we're not following Jesus because Jesus told us not to judge. Luke 6:27-41
It's one thing if a non-believer says, 'I don't agree with your beliefs', or 'I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore because you're a follower of Christ'. It's an entirely different thing for a follower of Christ to avoid close friendships with non-believers.

For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?'. 2 Cor 6:14;
