The Watchtower says this, 'By word or action, may we never challenge the channel of communication that Jehovah is using today. ... we should cherish our privilege to cooperate with the slave class.' Watchtower Nov 15, 2009, article, 'Treasure Your Place in the Congregation', par 5. In the same article, the organization cautions Jehovah's Witnesses against disobedience, disrespect, and a spirit of independence. JW's are told to be obedient and submissive to those taking the lead.
The 'slave class' refers to the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. Critics say this. Why is it necessary to be obedient to the leaders of a religious organization who admit mistakes are possible? See No Divine Inspiration
Has their organization unwittingly become a symbol for salvation? According to the Bible, no human institution can take God's place. 'Salvation comes from the Lord.' Psalms 3:8
Even though salvation comes from the Lord, Jehovah's Witnesses serve God through obedience to the organization.
Only the Governing Body has a direct relationship with God. They are God's 'channel of communication'. Everyone else worships God by tuning into this channel and path to salvation.
In order to be saved Jehovah's Witnesses must be members in good standing with the organization. Worshipping God directly without the organization is not an option. They believe that ONLY Jehovah's Witnesses have any 'scriptural hope' of being saved. Watchtower Sept 1989
Millions of Jehovah's Witnesses world wide blindly submit to whatever their religion says is 'the truth'. Jehovah's Witnesses are told to avoid independent thinking because their Governing Body is God's 'channel of communication'.
Here's an example. Jehovah's Witnesses do not pledge allegiance to one's country and flags because these are 'human institutions' and 'symbols' for salvation. However they put their trust in their religion as the only path to salvation!
The Watchtower says that 'Salvation is not to be ascribed to human institutions or their symbols.' WT Sept 15, 2002, article 'Salvation Belongs to Jehovah'.
That's why Jehovah's Witnesses can't
If salvation belongs to God, why is obedience to their organization required?
Since the Watchtower says they have no divine inspiration, it's crystal clear they are a human institution like any other religion.
According to the Watchtower, 'Salvation is not to be ascribed to human institutions or their symbols.' Watchtower Sept 15, 2002, article 'Salvation Belongs to Jehovah'.
Jehovah's Witnesses believe their human institution is an exception. It is 'God's organization', and the truth. It is not a 'false region' like all the others. But where are the facts to back up these beliefs? Critics say there are none. It is religious propaganda and mind control
Christians say that Jehovah's Witnesses would do well if they follow Jesus and no one else. Going to church is good. Studying the Bible with fellow Christians is good too. Develop a personal relationship with God. Do not depend on affiliation with any religion to save you even if they claim to be 'the truth'.
Having 'the truth' will not save us. The Bible says, 'Salvation comes from the Lord.' Psalms 3:8; Exodus 20:4,5.
All authority has been given to Jesus. Matthew 28:18.
Christians follow Jesus. Christians do not follow Moses, the Apostle Paul, the early Christian congregation, a 'modern day' representative for God, or even Jehovah, because the Bible says it's not required. Jesus said, 'All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.'
Do you believe God requires us to obey and harmonize the entire Bible? See All Scriptures Are Inspired
Christians follow Jesus because he is the path to eternal life. All we need to do is read the words of Jesus and follow him. The entire Bible and dedication to an organization is not required for salvation. John 6:67-69
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus appointed a faithful and discreet slave in these last days before armageddon. Is God's slave a symbol for salvation? What does the Bible say about the slave?
