What does the Bible say about deception and dishonesty?

Is honesty the best policy? Or is it better to hide the dirt under a beautiful carpet? What does the Bible say?

'Your scales and weights must be accurate. Your containers for measuring dry materials or liquids must be accurate. I am the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt.' Leviticus 19:36

What would Jesus say about judicial committees, disfellowshipping, shunning, lack of love, control, manipulation, forbidding blood transfusions, forbidding the celebration of holidays with family, keeping secrets for selfish gain, and other hurtful things? Luke 6:27-41

What would Jesus say about looking good on the outside and hiding the truth?
