The Good News Of Jesus.

What Did Jesus Say?

24. The Jews gathered around him, saying, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." 35. Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me, 26. but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30. I and the Father are one." 31. Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, 32. but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?" 33. "We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God." 34. Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'? 35. If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came--and the Scripture cannot be broken-- 36. what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'? 37. Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does. 38. But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father." 39. Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp. John 10:24 NIV

1. After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. John 17: 1 - 3 NIV

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 NIV

How To Follow Jesus.

Jesus said, 34. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Jesus said, "If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?' Matt 5: 46, 47 NIV.

Jesus even loved his enemies and blessed his executioners while dying a painful death on the torture stake (or cross). Luke 6:35; Luke 23:34

31. To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." 33. They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?" 34. Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:31 - 36

What Religion Is The Best One?

Jesus did not specify what religion you must belong to in order to be saved. In fact Jesus didn't say that belonging to a religion was a requirement for salvation. All that is required for everlasting life is that we follow the teachings of Jesus.

That's why true Christians follow Jesus, - not the Apostles, [1] or the early Christian congregation, or the teachings of any modern religion.

True Christians read the words of Jesus and follow only him. Their reward is everlasting life.

By believing in Jesus and following is his example of love we are no longer a 'slave of sin'. We have a 'permanent' place in God's Kingdom. John 8:31 - 36

What Do Jehovah's Witnesses Say?

What do Jehovah's Witnesses say? They believe it's their responsibility to warn the wicked and convert them to Jehovah's Witnesses before God's judgement day arrives.

Is it the same good news Jesus taught? Critics say that it is not. Instead of Jesus being their only authority, the organization's leaders must be obeyed as if their religion is the only path to salvation. Matthew 28:18,19. Some say this could be a modern day form of idolatry. See Salvation. The Best Religion. Will It Save You?

The Watchtower Society says, "Only Jehovah's Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil." Watchtower Magazine, Sept 1, 1989 page 19. Is this a Bible based fact? Or is it religious propaganda designed to keep Jehovah's Witnesses in fear of questioning the organization's authority? Did The Apostle Paul Preach The Good News Of Jesus?

1. Jesus warned his followers about the 'leaven' of the Pharisees. That 'leaven' began to creep into the early Christian congregation immediately after Jesus died. The Apostle Paul proclaimed that he was a Pharisee (after he became the Apostle Paul). Even though Paul was no doubt a sincere Christian, his teachings deviated from those of Jesus.
