When you understand what Jehovah's Witnesses believe, you may not want your friends and family members to join them. What can you do?
You can literally save lives by helping people see the dangers associated with being a Jehovah's Witness.
People who belong to a cult are convinced they are the only ones with the truth and they are in a spiritual paradise.
Anyone who disagrees is considered 'the enemy' and a 'persecutor'. Opposition to their cause only serves to strengthen a cult member's faith.
That's why it's best to take action immediately after you notice they've been talking with the Jehovah's Witnesses. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to help your loved ones leave the Watchtower organization.
They might tell you they're 'thinking of joining the Jehovah's Witnesses'.
Watch for colorful Watchtower and Awake Magazines, Watchtower publications, and the New World Translation of the Bible. (This Bible is used only by Jehovah's Witnesses. It contains many serious errors and distorts the scriptures to conform to their doctrines.)
Observe anything missing. Jehovah's Witnesses do not own pictures of Jesus, statues of God, crosses, metaphysical items, etc.
Observe their language. Are they starting to use new words? Jehovah's Witnesses communicate with each other with unique terminology. These words control the minds of people who hear the same thing over and over again. Critics say their words are hypnotic suggestions that compel Jehovah's Witnesses to obey their leaders as if their authority comes directly from God. Watch out for words like armageddon, end of this doomed system of things, false religion, Jehovah's visible organization, loyal to Jehovah AND his organization, the faithful and discreet slave, the good news about God's kingdom, 144,000, paradise earth, the only true religion, in the truth, ... The Jehovah's Witnesses always warn new converts right away that they will be 'persecuted' by their family and friends. Then they are told that this is a sign that they have found the 'only true religion'. They are told that everyone will try to turn them against 'God's only organization' and this proves they've found the only path to salvation.
So before you say a word, they're expecting you to get angry and upset. If you lose your self control, they'll be more convinced than ever that they've found 'the truth'. Not only that, but they will avoid further contact with you like the plaque. You may lose them forever.
